Immediate opening for Lab Technician and Medical Assistant
Nationally recognized dermatology practice in a beautiful, professional park setting seeks an energetic and personable lab technician and medical assistant to join our team. Every member is vital to our success. This position offers the opportunity for professional and personal growth.
An individual taking this position will be fully trained by a highly skilled lab technician. Responsibilities include: Processing, embedding, cutting, and staining quality frozen tissue specimens for microscopic evaluation by the Mohs surgeon. Additional duties include: Working on the surgical floor to provide patient care, as needed. Perform and document tests in compliance with quality control procedures. Maintain appropriate quality controls in accordance with CLIA, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies. Maintains histology equipment in good working order. Assist in maintaining CLIA certification of the lab. You will join a team of dedicated and energetic physicians and staff in a growing dermatology practice located in Dayton, Ohio.
Education requirements for Lab Technician and Medical Assistant Position include:
- have earned a bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical lab science, or medical a laboratory technology.
- Or have earned an associate degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory technology.
- Or be a high school graduate or equivalent and have successfully completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course.
- Or have earned a high school diploma or equivalent, and have documentation of training appropriate for the testing performed prior to analyzing patient specimens (list of training requirements applies).
