The Deputy Clerk I is responsible for general clerical support to the Civil and Magistrate Court. This position covers two separate and distinct courts.
- Answers telephones, routes calls, take messages, files cases and records.

Assist customers, responds to questions and requests from the public.

Accepts cases and legal documents for filing from the public and attorneys.

Prepares subpoenas and record in docket book.

Inputs and scans complaints, dispossessories, foreclosures, and other legal documents.

Prepares folders and creates labels for new cases.

Administer oaths to customers.

Receives and properly processes payments.

Maintains cash box by balancing till daily.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
The Deputy Clerk I should possess, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent; and one (1) year experience in clerical and customer service or any equivalent combination of education and experience deemed sufficient. Possession of a valid Georgia Motor Vehicle Operator's License.

Skill in operating such standard office equipment as a calculator, copier, computer, typewriter, and facsimile machine.

Skill in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word and excel).
