Job Overview
The Paperboard Sheeter Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining paperboard sheeting equipment to produce accurately sized sheets that meet customer specifications and quality standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient production while minimizing waste and downtime.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate paperboard sheeting equipment.
- Read and interpret job tickets and production specifications.
- Verify paperboard grades, calipers, sheet sizes, and grain direction.
- Monitor sheet quality throughout production.
- Perform quality checks including dimensions, squareness, and stack quality.
- Adjust machine settings to maximize productivity and reduce waste.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and coordinate maintenance when needed.
- Safely operate forklifts or material handling equipment (preferred).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Accurately complete production paperwork and reporting.
Experience
- Experience operating paperboard or paper sheeting equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read production work orders.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and work throughout a production shift.
- Experience with printing or packaging manufacturing.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
