Avir at Abilene is seeking a compassionate and motivated Full-Time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our exceptional in-house rehabilitation team in Abilene, Texas.

Our in-house rehabilitation department works collaboratively to develop customized treatment plans that exceed industry standards while fostering a positive and rewarding work environment.
Occupational Therapist Responsibilities
Consult with residents to evaluate their physical condition and its impact on daily activities, independence, and quality of life
Perform comprehensive evaluations and interpret assessment findings
Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based interventions to maximize performance in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs)
Assess resident environments and recommend appropriate modifications and adaptive equipment
Provide education and training on adaptive equipment and compensatory techniques
Deliver treatment according to the established plan of care
Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, safety, and functional independence
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and rehabilitation team members to ensure outstanding resident care
Complete accurate and timely documentation in compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations
Attend required interdisciplinary meetings and maintain compliance with all facility policies and procedures
Qualifications
Active and valid Texas Occupational Therapist license
License in good standing with all regulatory agencies
Skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care experience preferred
Knowledge of current occupational therapy treatment practices
Experience with Net Health electronic documentation is preferred
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with residents of varying diagnoses and personalities
