Duties
- Assist in preparing ingredients and assembling dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing supplies
- Support food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene compliance throughout the kitchen
- Help with food prep tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and assembling plates
- Follow proper knife skills for efficient and safe food preparation
- Aid in meal preparation for catering events or special functions as needed
- Contribute to menu planning discussions by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques
- Ensure all food service activities adhere to food safety regulations and quality standards
- Nights and weekends are a must
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Experience working in a restaurant or food industry setting demonstrating familiarity with food handling and service procedures
- Culinary experience including basic cooking techniques, meal preparation, and kitchen operations preferred
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation practices essential for maintaining a safe environment
- Skills in menu planning, food presentation, and catering support are advantageous
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation methods required for efficient kitchen workflow
