Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food prep tools.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, portioning, and plating to support smooth kitchen operations.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service.
- Follow food handling procedures diligently to uphold safety standards in production and prevent contamination.
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and dish presentation ideas.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant kitchens is highly preferred; familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques; knowledge of food industry best practices in food safety management.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques including cooking methods, recipe adherence, and meal preparation.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members.
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and maintaining high safety standards during production.
