Front Counter Associate
Vin-Chet Kitchen is looking for a friendly, positive, and dependable Front Counter Associate. This is a full-time position in a takeout-focused environment. Because this person will often be the first and last employee a customer interacts with, genuine hospitality, clear communication, and attention to detail are essential.
Previous restaurant, customer-service, or POS experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person. A naturally welcoming personality, a positive attitude, and a genuine interest in helping customers are our highest priorities.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Tuesday through Saturday
- 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- 30-minute unpaid meal break
- Currently closed Sundays and Mondays
Compensation
- $16–$19 per hour
- Starting wage within the range will be based on relevant experience and qualifications

Responsibilities
- Welcome and acknowledge every customer promptly and warmly
- Accurately enter takeout and telephone orders using POS
- Manage online and third-party delivery orders
- Process cash, credit card, gift card, and other payments
- Open and close the register and accurately count the cash drawer
- Confirm order details, modifications, and special requests before submitting orders
- Learn the menu, ingredients, preparation methods, and availability of items
- Answer ingredient and allergen questions according to established procedures
- Ask management or co-workers for assistance whenever uncertain about an ingredient or allergen question
- Recommend menu items and suggest additions based on each customer’s needs
- Make coffee, portion soup, package takeout orders, and assist with order assembly
- Verify completed orders for accuracy before giving them to customers or delivery drivers
- Communicate clearly with kitchen employees about orders, modifications, allergy concerns, and order status
- Answer telephone calls professionally and accurately record orders or messages
- Resolve routine customer concerns promptly and professionally
- Provide refunds or other approved solutions according to company guidelines
- Inform management of customer concerns and resolutions afterward
- Stock beverages, packaging, condiments, napkins, and counter supplies
- Clean and maintain the counter, customer waiting areas, and customer restroom
- Complete assigned opening, closing, stocking, and cleaning responsibilities
- Assist other employees as needed

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience using a restaurant POS system
- Previous restaurant, bakery, café, deli, retail, or customer-service experience
- Experience handling takeout, telephone, online, or third-party delivery orders
- Experience handling cash and resolving customer concerns
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move throughout the scheduled shift
- Ability to bend, reach, stock supplies, and perform repetitive register and packaging tasks
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to communicate clearly in an active kitchen and customer-service environment
