MacLean-Fogg is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the financial performance of our manufacturing operations in Menomonee Falls and Whitewater, Wisconsin.
Reporting to the Controller, you will lead core accounting activities and partner directly with plant and operations leaders to understand financial results, analyze manufacturing costs, improve processes, and support business decisions.
This role offers broad exposure to financial reporting, general ledger accounting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and operational analysis. It is well suited for an accountant who wants ownership, variety, access to leadership, and a clear connection between accounting work and manufacturing performance.

Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting financial schedules.
Maintain the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts to support complete and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare financial statements, management reports, and operational analyses for accounting and business leaders.
Partner with plant managers and operations leaders to explain financial results, evaluate cost drivers, and identify opportunities to improve performance.
Support manufacturing cost accounting, product costing, inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing variance analysis.
Analyze material, labor, overhead, spending, volume, and other operational variances, as applicable.
Support budgeting, forecasting, annual planning, and monthly budget-to-actual analysis.
Assist with physical inventory, cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, inventory reserves, and related internal controls.
Support internal and external audits by preparing account analyses, schedules, documentation, and requested information.
Analyze financial and operational data using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and JD Edwards to identify trends, improve reporting, and support business decisions.
Identify and implement improvements that increase the accuracy, consistency, efficiency, and visibility of accounting processes and financial reporting.
Collaborate with accounting and finance colleagues across MacLean-Fogg to standardize processes, improve reporting, and share best practices.
Prepare ad hoc financial analyses to support operational and strategic decisions.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Three or more years of progressive accounting experience.
Experience with month-end close, journal entries, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal accounting controls.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, or related financial analysis.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and JD Edwards or a comparable ERP system.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to explain financial information clearly to accounting and non-accounting stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines.
Manufacturing, plant, cost, or inventory accounting experience.
Experience with product costing, standard costing, inventory valuation, or manufacturing variance analysis.
CPA, CMA, or another relevant accounting certification.
Experience improving accounting processes, reporting tools, internal controls, or ERP workflows.
Experience developing financial reports, dashboards, and business insights that support operational decision-making.
