We are expanding!! We are excited to launch a new mobile unit in our fleet and looking to hire our next Mobile Mammography Tech Assistant to join our growing team.
Reports To: COO and Director of Mammography
Job Summary
The Mobile Mammography Tech Assistant supports the mammography technologist in delivering high-quality breast cancer screening services via our mobile unit. This role includes assisting with patient intake, maintaining a clean and organized environment, driving and transporting the mobile unit, and ensuring the overall efficient operation of the mobile clinic. When the mobile unit is not in route, this position assists with patient scheduling and administrative tasks in the main office. The assistant is a vital part of providing compassionate, efficient, and professional care to patients across our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients during mobile screening events.
- Confirm patient identification and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Explain the screening process and provide comfort and reassurance to patients.
- Ensure patient privacy and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Drive the mobile unit to and from storage locations and clinical sites.
- Print, scan, and document patient questionnaires and medical records.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the mobile unit, following all infection control protocols.
- Assist technologists with administrative tasks, such as verifying orders and updating EMR records.
- Transport, load, and unload supplies and equipment as needed.
- Schedule patients in the office on days when the mobile van is not in route.
- Report any operational issues or vehicle/equipment malfunctions to the supervising technologist or coordinator.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous healthcare, radiology, or direct patient care experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required (must be comfortable driving the mobile unit).
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mobile environment.
- Basic computer literacy (experience with EMR systems is a plus).
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and assist patients with mobility needs.
Work Environment
- Mobile clinical setting (van/bus/trailer) and standard office environment.
- Frequent travel and exposure to varied weather conditions.
- Direct interaction with diverse patient populations.
