Wild About Sports Academy is seeking energetic, dependable, and passionate basketball and soccer coaches to join our growing team.
We are looking for coaches who understand that youth sports are about more than teaching a game. Great coaches create organized, welcoming, and first-class environments where young athletes feel supported, challenged, and excited to return each week.

Position Summary
As a Youth Sports Coach, you will lead engaging training sessions, support player development, and create a positive team environment for young athletes.
Wild About Sports Academy operates school teams, recreational programs, and competitive teams in both basketball and soccer. Coaches may work in one or several of these environments based on their experience, qualifications, availability, and areas of interest.
Our coaches are expected to deliver every session with energy, preparation, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities Player Development
Plan and lead structured, age-appropriate training sessions that improve technical ability, decision-making, confidence, athletic development, and overall performance.
Positive Coaching
Create an encouraging environment where athletes feel comfortable learning, competing, making mistakes, and growing.
Team Culture
Promote teamwork, accountability, sportsmanship, effort, respect, discipline, and pride in representing Wild About Sports Academy.
Session Preparation
Arrive on time and prepared with an organized training plan, appropriate equipment, and a clear objective for each session.
Player Assessment
Observe player performance and provide constructive, age-appropriate feedback that supports individual growth and development.
Game and Event Leadership
Coach practices, games, scrimmages, tournaments, camps, clinics, leagues, and special events when assigned.
Game Strategy
Develop and implement age-appropriate game plans, team concepts, and competitive strategies based on the level and goals of the team.
Communication
Maintain professional, clear, and respectful communication with athletes, families, school administrators, team managers, and fellow coaches.
Safety and Supervision
Maintain a safe, organized environment and provide proper supervision during all practices, games, camps, and academy events.
Professional Representation
Serve as a positive representative of Wild About Sports Academy through appearance, conduct, communication, preparation, and attention to the family experience.
Continuous Development
Remain open to feedback, staff training, coaching education, curriculum development, and continued professional improvement.
Program Opportunities
Wild About Sports Academy provides basketball and soccer programming across multiple levels, giving coaches the opportunity to work with athletes throughout their development journey.
School Teams
Coach basketball or soccer teams at our partner schools during the academic year. School-based coaching includes practices, games, communication with school administrators, and the opportunity to represent WASA within established school communities.
Recreational Programs
Introduce young athletes to basketball or soccer in a positive, structured, and development-focused environment. Recreational coaches help players build fundamental skills, confidence, teamwork, and a genuine love for the game.
Competitive Teams
Work with more advanced athletes in a higher-performance environment that includes structured player development, league competition, tournaments, evaluations, and long-term team growth.
Camps and Clinics
Lead seasonal camps, specialty clinics, player-development sessions, and other academy events designed to provide athletes with engaging and memorable sports experiences.
Whether coaching a child’s first practice or preparing a competitive team for tournament play, every WASA coach plays an important role in creating a professional and meaningful experience for athletes and families.
Qualifications
Previous coaching experience in youth basketball or soccer is preferred but not required.
A strong playing background in basketball or soccer may also be considered.

- The ability to teach age-appropriate skills and concepts

- Availability during afternoons, evenings, and weekends
- Reliable transportation to assigned locations
- A professional appearance and positive attitude
Coaching certifications, licenses, CPR or first-aid training, teaching experience, or previous work in youth development are considered a plus.
Successful completion of all required background screening is mandatory.

Schedule
Coaching schedules may include:
- Weekday afternoons
