American Traveler is hiring an EEG Technologist (Neurodiagnostic Technologist II) for a 13-week contract in a Clinical Neurophysiology unit, with EEG registration required.

Clinical Neurophysiology department within an acute care medical center
-
Performs EEG, EMG, NCV, sensory evoked potentials (EP), and polysomnographic testing in hospital rooms, operating rooms, and clinics
-
Variable 12-hour shifts, either days (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) or nights (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)

36 hours per week on a 3 days per week schedule

Weekend shifts may be required as part of the variable schedule

Holiday coverage is required per facility policy

No on-call required

Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology, OR a High School Diploma with 2 years of experience performing sleep or neurodiagnostics procedures

Registry eligible in one of the following specialty areas: EEG (R. EEG T. or CLTM), EP (R. EP T.), Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM), NCV, Polysomnography (RPSGT), or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)

Must be EEG registered

Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)

Two professional references required for consideration

Performs diagnostic testing including EEG, EMG, NCV, evoked potentials, and polysomnographic studies, with possible oxygen therapy and CPAP administration

Responsible for room and equipment setup, calibration, and ongoing maintenance
-
Reads and scores neurodiagnostic and polysomnographic tests
-
Takes patient histories and instructs patients and families on test preparation, pre-test interviews, and follow-up appointments

May provide instruction and guidance to other technologists in the Neurodiagnostic and/or Sleep Disorders Lab
-
Position has potential to convert to permanent placement depending on performance and available internal openings
