What You'll Do:
As an Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the financial health and accuracy of our portfolio. You'll partner closely with leadership, property management teams, and external partners to support financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and strategic initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly financial statements, including variance analysis, for assigned properties and entities
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts and ensuring the accuracy of monthly account reconciliations
- Maintaining fixed asset records, including depreciation and amortization schedules
- Recording journal entries and cash receipts
- Reviewing vendor invoice coding to ensure accurate processing by onsite and Accounts Payable teams
- Monitoring and initiating tax payments, including real property taxes, personal property taxes, local taxes, tourist taxes, and other applicable filings
- Tracking and processing insurance payments, including property, general liability, and workers' compensation
- Reconciling and balancing intercompany transactions
- Assisting with the preparation of annual operating budgets and monitoring budget-to-actual performance
- Preparing monthly financial reports to support property-level performance analysis
- Collaborating with the CFO, Controller, Property Managers, and other departments on special projects and business initiatives
- Working with our external CPA firm on annual tax returns, audits, and technical accounting matters
- Reviewing loan agreements, contracts, and other financial documents to ensure compliance and provide meaningful financial insight to leadership
What You'll Bring:
- 3+ years of accounting experience with strong general ledger accounting knowledge
- Solid understanding of core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- A proactive, self-motivated mindset with a positive attitude and a desire to continuously learn and improve
