TITLE: Fabrication Manager

PAY: $90-105k annually

Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Fabrication Manager to lead steel and aluminum fabrication operations. This role combines leadership with active involvement in fabrication, welding, process improvement, and manufacturing support. The ideal candidate is a technical expert in welding who can drive quality, efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily steel and aluminum fabrication operations, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time production.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for welding and fabrication processes.
- Perform hands-on fabrication and welding on complex or critical projects as needed.
- Supervise and develop fabrication personnel through coaching, training, performance management, and hiring.
- Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and fabrication efficiency.
- Develop and maintain fabrication standards, welding procedures, and best practices.
- Partner with Engineering and Production Planning to improve manufacturability, establish production priorities, and support new product introductions.
- Lead Lean manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Support weld qualification testing, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and company procedures.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of steel and aluminum fabrication experience.
- Expertise in MIG and TIG welding of steel and aluminum.
- 3+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication methods, fixturing, weld distortion control, and manufacturing processes.
- ERP/MRP system experience.
- AWS welding certifications preferred.
- Experience with custom manufacturing or engineered-to-order products preferred.
- Proven leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to heat, cold, noise, and other industrial conditions. Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, walk on uneven surfaces while wearing PPE, and perform other physical tasks associated with fabrication work.
