School Description:
Dayton Consolidated School serves students PreK through Grade 5.
Brief Job Duties:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

Supports students and families to promote academic, social and emotional growth.

Facilitating referrals to the Department of Human Services per school committee policy.

Coordinating and consulting with community resources, and other interested community residents.

Organizing and providing training programs for parents.

Maintaining complete records on all in-school referrals and case management.
-
Respecting confidentiality of position.

Facilitates a smooth transition for children between grade levels and schools.

Develops a variety of resource materials to be used for classroom guidance activities.

Develops programs and assist students in dealing with human relations, social values, decision making, personal development and career preparation, and to conduct classes in these areas.

Works with Building Leader to collect and apply student data to improve the educational programming of students.

Adheres to truancy protocols.

Assists in the programming needs of all students throughout the school.

Making home visits when deemed necessary or upon request by a Building Leader.

Provide relevant student/family information to staff that assists with individual student growth.

Serves on committees as assigned by the Building Leader and Director of Special Education.

Attend IEPs and serves students with IEPs as an educational related service.

Other job-related duties as assigned by the Building Leader or Director of Special
Certification/License:

Licensed by State of Maine Social Work Registration Board.

Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education

School Counselor (#075)- optional
Education:
Masters Degree as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Experience:
Successful prior school experience for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not required.
Compensation:
Based on education level, experience, and per the collective bargaining agreement
Range: $49,750 - $81,650
