Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Jr Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. As a Jr Accountant, you will support the organization’s financial operations by assisting with payroll function, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Responsibilities:
- Processing of Office and field payroll including time entry, processing of certified payrolls, union dues and payroll reporting.
- Processing monthly Union reporting to multiple locals.
- Accounts payable include processing AP invoices, monitoring insurance certificates for subcontractors.
- Set up new vendors and process credit applications for new accounts.
- Perform monthly Sales & Use Tax reporting
- Support Project Accounting function and Operations staff as necessary
- Manage the company credit card programs (Comdata & MasterCard) in alignment with company’s internal controls. Prepare monthly reporting and monitor the accounts
- Assists with job cost reporting, including journal entries, job cost adjustment, and accruals
- Assist in month end close process by preparing various account reconciliations
- Compile information for internal and external auditors, as needed
Requirements:
- 0-2 Year of general ledger or project accounting experience (Construction background preferred).
- Associate/bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting or related field required.
- Requires ability to process complex time sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions based on this data, and to effectively communicate the related required actions to customers and staff.
- Financial Management work experience, including AP/AR, payroll Knowledge of an accounting management and payroll system (Trimble/Viewpoint, Spectrum, Traqspera, Material Management, etc.) is desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook; expert level Excel skills required
- Requires excellent oral and written communication, skills to effectively communicate with employees, customers, and management
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines
- Functions effectively as part of a team
Pay: $53,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
