Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Required Skills:
Proficiency with administration of Apple OS X based systems, Promise Array, Citrix Application Server, Blade Server Technology, UNIX/Solaris 10, and Windows operating systems. Experience in the set up and maintenance of fiber channel switches for SAN storage configurations. Experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN), NAS, and WAN/LAN technologies. Knowledge and understanding of DNS Bind, DHCP, Active Directory, MS Exchange 2003+, TCP/IP, IIS, Apache/Tomcat, Weblogic 10.3, Oracle 10g, and LAN protocols. Knowledge of Netbackup, Veritas or other backup applications. Knowledge of tape library configuration and application with Windows and Solaris systems. Skills related to network design, diagnostics and optimization. Experience with multiple equipment platforms such as HP, Sun, Dell, and Network Appliance. Demonstrated experience working with and managing hardware and software vendors. Proven ability to document requirements, design and data migration plans as they apply to software integration and operational processes are also expected.
