The Construction Loan Specialist supports the bank’s construction lending process and loans subject to completion of a build/remodel from loan application through project completion. This position obtains, organizes, underwrites, and reviews all required documentation throughout the loan process and post loan closing. This position communicates and works with borrowers and construction-related partners to help ensure loans are handled accurately, efficiently and in compliance with bank policy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Construction Loan Application and Underwriting:
- Take construction loan applications and applications for loans subject to completion of a build/remodel
- Underwrite construction loan documents and documents for loans subject to completion of a build/remodel for completeness and accuracy, including but not limited to construction loan agreements and draw schedules.
· Communicate construction loan information to borrower and contractor as necessary to help ensure understanding of the process.
Construction Loan Administration:
- Maintain construction loan files from closing through completion.
· Review loan, draw request, inspection, lien waiver, invoice, budget, and related documentation before disbursement.
· Coordinate inspections, when applicable.
· Monitor project progress, loan balances, timelines, and documentation requirements.
· Maintain accurate records in the bank’s systems and follow bank policies and regulatory requirements.
Customer & Relationship Management
- Serve as the main contact for borrowers during the construction loan process.
· Communicate with borrowers, contractors, builders, inspectors, appraisers, title companies, surveyors, insurance representatives, municipal officials, vendors, and internal bank staff, when applicable.
· Provide updates on project status, funding timelines, and documentation needs.
· Respond to customer questions and resolve concerns professionally.

Qualifications
- Experience in banking, mortgage servicing, construction lending, loan operations, or a related field preferred.
· Knowledge of construction lending, draw schedules, inspections, lien waivers, title requirements, and loan documentation preferred.
· Strong organization, attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and banking software systems.

Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based, with local travel as needed to construction sites, customers, builders, contractors, and other business partners. Scheduling flexibility will be required to meet customer, inspection, project, or business needs.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.21 per hour
