Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, offering knowledgeable advice on plants, gardening tools, outdoor equipment, and landscape maintenance products
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for cash handling, credit card processing, and sales transactions
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure product availability and visual appeal
- Support inventory management through stocking, inventory counts, and product replenishment
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions via phone or in person about product features, plant care tips, or store policies
- Identify plants and gardening supplies to help customers select appropriate products for their outdoor projects
- Assist with floral design or seasonal displays to enhance store presentation and attract customers
Skills
- Strong knowledge of lawn care, landscape maintenance, horticulture, and gardening techniques
- Experience with retail sales processes, including cashiering and retail math calculations
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities
- Outdoor work experience and familiarity with plant identification are highly valued
- Ability to organize tasks efficiently while managing multiple customer interactions simultaneously
- Knowledge of floral design, merchandising strategies, and stock management techniques
- Customer service-oriented attitude with proactive problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours in an outdoor environment while maintaining safety standards
