Join the Chino Police Department as a Police Cadet!
Are you looking to gain valuable law enforcement experience while making a difference in your community? The City of Chino is seeking motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as part-time Police Cadet!
This position is scheduled to work up to 36 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Work schedules are subject to change based on the operational needs of the Department and the service needs of the community.
In this role, you’ll work alongside law enforcement professionals, providing essential support to various divisions of the Chino Police Department. From office support to para-technical police work, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment—all while preparing for a future career in law enforcement.
Successful candidates must be able to pass an extensive Police Department Background Investigation and Administrative Review. Please refer to the Special Requirements section below for additional details.

Work a varying flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays (hours/days may be adjusted as needed).

Receive satisfactory results from a background investigation, a physical examination, which includes a drug screen, and an administrative review.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Ability to frequently lift over 50 lbs. with frequent lifting, pushing, and/or carrying of objects weighing over 25 lbs.

Ability to move quickly and easily, often including the ability to crawl, stoop, or bend.

Without correction, vision not less than 20/40 in each eye, which must be corrected to 20/20 in one eye and not less than 20/25 in the other eye.

Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
