Story County Medical Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Emergency Services Supervisor to provide leadership and operational oversight for our MICU team. This position offers a unique opportunity for an EMS professional to combine clinical expertise, leadership, education, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance to support exceptional emergency care throughout the communities we serve.
This position is ideal for an experienced paramedic looking to advance into EMS leadership while maintaining involvement in clinical practice. You'll have the opportunity to influence department operations, mentor EMS professionals, drive quality initiatives, and help shape the future of emergency services at Story County Medical Center.
- Provide operational leadership and support for MICU and Ambulance Services.

Assist with the development, implementation, and oversight of EMS protocols, procedures, and clinical guidelines.

Monitor quality metrics, conduct audits, and support performance improvement initiatives.

Ensure compliance with Iowa Department of Public Health EMS Bureau regulations and standards.

Serve as a liaison with local, regional, and state EMS partners.

Support emergency preparedness, HAZMAT training, and community outreach efforts.

Collaborate with internal departments to strengthen patient care, safety, and operational effectiveness.

Provide mentoring, coaching, and clinical guidance to EMS personnel.

Function clinically as needed to maintain competency and support department operations.
- Graduate of an accredited Paramedic program.

Current Iowa Paramedic certification.

Valid Iowa Chauffeur's License with a good driving record.

Minimum two (2) years of EMS clinical experience.

Minimum two (2) years of hospital-based experience.

Strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- EMS Instructor certification.

PHTLS certification (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).

BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor certifications.

Salary Range: $38.24 - $57.36 per hour (competitive and commensurate with experience)
