West Coast Truck Repair is hiring an experienced Diesel Technician. We repair semitrucks, dump trucks, trailers, medium-duty trucks, and box trucks — everything from oil changes and preventive maintenance to suspension replacement, brakes, electrical diagnostics, and engine work.
This is not an entry-level position. You must be able to work independently on heavy trucks from day one.
Why techs like working here:
- Small, tight-knit team — no corporate red tape, you work directly with the owner
- Overtime available if you want the extra hours and bigger paychecks
- Real variety: engines, suspensions, electrical, trailers — you won't be stuck doing only oil changes
- $30-$50/hr based on your skill level, with room to grow as you prove yourself
- Steady, year-round work with an established customer base
What you'll do:
- Preventive maintenance and oil changes on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers
- Brake jobs, air system repairs, wheel seals
- Suspension replacement and steering repairs
- Diagnose and repair electrical and air systems
- Engine repair work
- DOT inspections
Requirements (you will be asked to verify all of these):
- Minimum 2 years hands-on experience as a diesel/heavy truck technician at a repair shop, fleet, or dealership
- References from previous shops — we will call and verify your experience before hiring
- Own hand tools
- Valid driver's license; CDL or ability to safely move and road-test semitrucks strongly preferred
- Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical shop work
- Authorized to work in the US
Nice to have: air brake experience, welding, diagnostic software experience (Cummins INSITE, DDDL, JPRO), DOT inspection certification.
How to apply: apply with your resume and answer all screening questions. Applications without shop experience or references will not be considered.
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
Application Question(s):
- List the last 2 shops or fleets where you worked as a technician, with a contact name and phone number for each. We will call to verify your experience before hiring.
- Do you have your own hand tools? Briefly describe one suspension, brake, or engine repair job you completed on a semitruck or heavy truck: what was the problem and what did you do?

- diesel/heavy truck repair: 2 years (Required)
