Job Title: Construction Electrician – Hospital Build Project

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Commercial Electrician to support the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems for a new hospital construction project. The ideal candidate will have experience working on large commercial or healthcare facilities and possess a strong understanding of electrical codes, hospital infrastructure requirements, and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining a safe construction environment.
Key Responsibilities for Commercial Electrician
- Install electrical systems, wiring, conduits, cable trays, and equipment according to project drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and construction documents.
- Install and connect lighting systems, emergency power systems, nurse call systems, fire alarm systems, and medical equipment power circuits.
- Perform rough-in and finish electrical work throughout patient rooms, operating suites, laboratories, offices, and common areas.
- Assist with installation of generators, switchgear, transformers, panelboards, and UPS systems.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical systems before commissioning.
- Ensure all work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC), local regulations, and healthcare facility requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and other trades to maintain project schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and inspections.
- Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Required Qualifications for Commercial Electrician
- Minimum 5–7 years of commercial electrical construction experience.
- Experience with healthcare, hospital, or large commercial projects preferred.
- Strong knowledge of NEC standards and electrical installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficient with electrical testing tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team.
Preferred Qualifications for Commercial Electrician
- Emergency power and backup generator systems
- Fire alarm and life safety systems
- Low-voltage and communication systems
- Medical equipment power distribution
Physical Requirements for Commercial Electrician
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding.
- Capable of standing, bending, kneeling, and working in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work extended hours or weekends as project schedules require.
