Radiologic Technologist / Medical Assistant
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Private Medical Practice
People Check is seeking a dependable, patient-focused Radiologic Technologist for a full-time position in our Barberton, Ohio office.
This is a dual-role position. Our office performs a relatively low volume of diagnostic x-rays—typically fewer than five per day —so the employee will also assist with clinical and medical assistant duties throughout the workday. This position is best suited for a radiologic technologist who enjoys variety, patient interaction, and working as part of a small medical-office team rather than remaining exclusively in the x-ray department.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform routine digital diagnostic x-rays in accordance with provider orders and established safety standards
- Properly position patients and obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Maintain required radiation-safety procedures, documentation, and quality-control records
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Obtain vital signs and document patient information
- Perform occupational-health testing and clinical services after training, which may include:
- Drug and alcohol testing
- Audiometry
- Spirometry
- Respirator fit testing
- Electrocardiograms
- Urine testing
- Blood draws and specimen processing
- Assist providers with patient flow, room preparation, and clinical procedures
- Complete accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
- Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection-control, and workplace-safety requirements
- Provide professional and courteous service to patients, employers, and coworkers
Required Qualifications
- Current Ohio radiologic license
- ARRT certification in radiography
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
- Strong patient-care and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to perform medical assistant and occupational-health duties when not taking x-rays
- Basic computer and electronic medical record skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an outpatient medical office, urgent care, occupational-health clinic, or primary-care setting
- Medical assisting or phlebotomy experience
- Experience performing occupational-health testing
- Familiarity with digital radiography systems
- Experience with electronic medical records
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday through Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, and comfortable performing a combination of radiology and clinical-support duties. Because our x-ray volume is limited, this position may not be appropriate for someone seeking a traditional hospital-based role in which radiography is the sole responsibility throughout the day.
