Non-Executive Board Member (Voluntary)
Location: Remote
Time commitment: 4 board meetings per year, plus reading/preparation time ahead of each meeting
Term: 2 years, renewable
Remuneration: Voluntary
We are looking for a Non-Executive Board Member to join our board and help shape the future direction of Wyoming Investor. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their governance experience and step into a leadership role, whether you're taking your first step onto a board or bringing experience from another sector.
We are particularly keen to hear from women and those looking to develop their leadership experience at board level, as we are committed to building a board that reflects a broad range of perspectives and backgrounds.
What You'll Do
- Attend and contribute to board meetings, providing independent judgement and constructive challenge
- Support the development and scrutiny of organisational strategy
- Help ensure good governance, financial oversight, and risk management
- Bring an external perspective, drawing on your own skills and experience — particularly a psychological lens on issues such as wellbeing, behaviour, service and business
- Act as an ambassador for the organisation where appropriate
- Potentially sit on a sub-committee (e.g. finance, HR, or fundraising) depending on skills and interest
What We're Looking For
- A genuine interest in our mission and the impact we want to make
- Willingness to learn about board governance (no prior board experience required — training and mentoring provided)
- Good judgement, curiosity, and the confidence to ask questions and offer a different viewpoint
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to commit the time required to prepare for and attend meetings
- Background or expertise in psychology (e.g. clinical, occupational, educational, or academic experience) is particularly welcome for this role
