Full-Time Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician (LVMT)
Location: Chattanooga, TN
Veterinary Ophthalmology Services is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician (LVMT) to join our drama-free team full-time.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital or clinic (required)
- Surgery and Anesthesia experience (required)
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
- Excellent client communication and organizational abilities
Responsibilities
- Assist with exams, surgery, patient restraint, and diagnostics
- Monitor anesthesia and provide surgical support
- Obtain patient histories and educate clients
- Triage medical cases and answer client phone calls when needed
- Fill prescriptions and assist with pharmacy duties when needed
- Schedule appointments and maintain accurate medical records
- Process payments and assist with administrative tasks when needed
- Help keep the clinic clean, organized, and welcoming
Desired Skills
- Phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, intubation, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical assisting
- Knowledge of anesthetic protocols and pain management
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office; ezyVet experience is a plus)
- Strong multitasking, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift as needed
