Buyer for a 6-month remote contract.

Buyer Requirements:
- 3+ years of buying, merchandising, category management, or retail planning experience with ownership of financial results.
- Proven ability to develop assortment strategies, sales forecasts, and category business plans that drive sales, margin, and inventory goals.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills, including experience securing favorable costs, terms, marketing support, and promotional opportunities.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends, customer insights, financial performance, and competitive data to inform decisions.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with experience partnering across planning, marketing, digital, merchandising, replenishment, and retail teams.
Buyer Responsibilities:
- Own the financial performance and operational management of an assigned product category, driving sales, margin, inventory turn, and in-stock objectives.
- Develop and execute assortment strategies, product lifecycle plans, pricing strategies, and promotional selections that align with customer needs and business goals.
- Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships, negotiating costs, terms, freight, discounts, and marketing support while identifying new product and vendor opportunities.
- Collaborate with planning, replenishment, digital, marketing, and visual merchandising teams to ensure successful product launches, category storytelling, and execution across channels.
- Manage category workflows, style plans, product data coordination, operational issue resolution, and ongoing analysis to support category growth and profitability.
