Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions quickly and accurately.
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases, including product demos when needed.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, restocking supplies like bags and receipts as necessary.
- Upsell products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products, store policies, or promotions.
- Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves and ensuring displays are tidy and inviting.
Skills
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse customers.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a wider range of shoppers.
- Basic math skills for quick calculations and accurate transaction processing.
- Previous retail sales or grocery store experience is beneficial but not required.
- Knowledge of customer service best practices, including phone etiquette and active listening.
