The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care throughout the continuum of care in the Pain Intervention Department, including pre-procedure assessment and preparation, procedural support, and post-anesthesia recovery. This is a hands-on clinical role that partners closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team to safely care for patients undergoing interventional pain management procedures. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced procedural environment and enjoys caring for patients from admission through discharge.
What You Will Do in This Role

Perform pre-procedure assessments, medication reconciliation, and patient education.

Prepare patients for procedures, including IV insertion and procedural readiness verification.

Assist physicians during interventional pain procedures, including fluoroscopy-guided treatments.

Administer medications and monitor patient responses in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.

Continuously assess and monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.

Provide Phase I and Phase II PACU care, including pain management and discharge readiness assessment.

Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.

Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.

Accurately document patient care and maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary team members to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
Qualifications you will need:
-
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in a Pain Management, PACU, Interventional Radiology (IR), Cath Lab, Endoscopy, Emergency Department, Critical Care or Ambulatory Surgery experience.

Additional specialty experience may be required as per facility practices (i.e. GI, IR etc)

Active RN license as required by state of employment

Required valid BCLS Certification upon employment. ***online certification not acceptable

PALS as required by facility
