Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service and customer relations, with excellent communication skills and a strong focus on guest satisfaction. This role is essential in ensuring smooth seating arrangements, managing guest flow, and providing exceptional hospitality that enhances the overall dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage wait times efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements using TOAST POS system.
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers regarding guest needs and seating availability
- Handle guest inquiries professionally via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
- Assist with guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously
- Support the team in maintaining a hospitable environment that encourages repeat visits
- Take carry out orders over the phone and assemble orders for pick up.
Requirements
- Previous host/host experience preferred, especially within food service or restaurant settings
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Experience in hotel or guest services is advantageous
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor aligned with hospitality standards
- Knowledge of hospitality industry best practices, including serving, guest relations, and phone etiquette
