Outpatient Retail Pharmacist

A hospital-affiliated outpatient pharmacy serving a community northeast of Columbus, Ohio is seeking a full-time Retail Pharmacist. This is a daytime outpatient role split across two pharmacy locations, with a rotating weekend schedule of approximately one weekend per month. Centerburg offers a small-town setting with straightforward access to Columbus and its broader amenities.
Schedule
Full-time, day shift. Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The pharmacy is closed on Sunday. Pharmacists rotate weekend shifts across two locations, working approximately one weekend per month. Holiday rotation is required; the pharmacy operates on shortened hours on Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve, and is closed on remaining major holidays.
Compensation
$48.00 to $68.00 per hour, depending on experience. A full benefits package is included.
What You'll Do
As a Retail Pharmacist, you will provide quality pharmaceutical care in accordance with applicable Ohio state and federal pharmacy laws, delivering both clinical support and medication distribution services across retail and outpatient pharmacy settings. Your patient population will span the full age continuum, from neonates and pediatric patients through adults and geriatric patients, and you will apply appropriate pharmaceutical care standards for each.
Your daily scope will include patient consultation, immunization administration, specialty medication dispensing, medication therapy management, and meds-to-beds services where applicable. You will adhere to organizational policies and procedures, accrediting body requirements, and professional practice standards throughout all aspects of your work. You will rotate between two pharmacy locations as part of the weekend coverage schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Pharm.D. or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college or university of pharmacy
- Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy
- Immunization certification, or willingness to obtain certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to serve patient populations across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, and geriatrics
- Comfort working across two pharmacy locations on a rotating weekend schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- 340B program experience
- Experience in outpatient or retail hospital pharmacy settings
- Medication therapy management (MTM) experience
- Familiarity with specialty pharmacy services or meds-to-beds programs
