Electronics Engineer
Metrohm Spectro, Inc. is an advanced analytical instrumentation leader, developing, manufacturing and servicing state-of-the-art laser products and spectroscopic devices, including handheld and laboratory Raman analyzers. With the fast growth of our business, we have an immediate vacancy for a full-time Electronics Engineer for our Plainsboro, NJ location.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting electronics for laser and spectroscopy instruments.
- Translate product requirements to engineering design specifications.
- Provide expertise for the entire electronic and electrical development process, from conceptional approach through detailed designs, prototypes through volume manufacturing, initial integration through verification and validation.
- Develop portions of the measurement and control system and associated tooling related to the electronics.
- Perform engineering analysis, generate detail electronic designs, create engineering drawings/documents, and partner with suppliers.
- Perform system tests of prototype units during development.
Education:
BSEE Required, MSEE and Ph.D (Preferred).
Qualifications:
- 3+ yrs in developing analog circuits, devices, and systems.
- Experience in low noise analog interface for photonics sensors.
- Development of protocols to test and qualify circuit boards and electronic systems.
- Communication protocols such as I2C, USB, SPI, RS232, UART, and TCP/IP.
- ESD prevention, EMI containment, and CE and UL compliance Working knowledge of embedded control hardware and firmware, a plus.
- Experience working with spectroscopic instruments is desirable.
Required skills:
- Electronic Design and Simulation – Altium, PCB Designer, PSpice, OrCAD, PADs or similar.
- Design of automated data acquisition system.
- Skilled in using tools for prototyping and troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of firmware development
- VHDL embedded code for FPGA logic a plus
