Based in Rutherford, California, our headquarters sits in the heart of the valley, reflecting our long and storied history. We pride ourselves on fostering a positive workplace culture built on teamwork, performance, and development at all levels.
Position Summary
We are seeking a bilingual, hands-on Human Resources Manager to lead all HR functions for our farm labor contracting operations in the Napa Valley. This critical role serves as a trusted resource for the entire organization, building relationships grounded in trust, respect, and integrity. You will manage the full spectrum of HR department activities—including policy implementation, benefits administration, payroll compliance, talent acquisition, employee relations, and health and safety programs. Because our diverse workforce includes a high percentage of Spanish-speaking, seasonal employees, full professional bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.

- Develop, translate, and enforce company best practices, policies, and the employee handbook.
- Advise leadership on employee relations, performance management, and organizational health.
- Lead workplace investigations, handle documentation, and support managers with constructive coaching and corrective action processes.
- Manage all HR vendor relationships, including our HRIS and benefits brokers.
Compliance, Payroll & Benefits
- Maintain ultimate responsibility for payroll accuracy, reviewing timekeeping, piece-rate tracking, and payroll reports.
- Ensure absolute compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, specifically California agricultural wage and hour regulations (overtime, meal/rest breaks).
- Manage employee leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, state programs) and navigate the interactive process for reasonable accommodations.
- Administer employee benefits programs, coordinate renewals with brokers, and handle compensation benchmarking.
Health, Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with Cal/OSHA and agricultural safety standards.
- Own Workers’ Compensation administration, managing claims and coordinating with carriers to support employee recovery.
- Oversee safety programs and deliver essential training (e.g., heat illness prevention, field sanitation) in both English and Spanish.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Develop and execute seasonal and full-time recruitment strategies for our farm labor workforce.
- Conduct interviews, onboarding, and orientations in the employees' preferred language (English or Spanish) to ensure clear performance expectations.
Role Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in an HR leadership or supervisory role.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly manages 2–3 positions, including payroll and safety specialists (subject to change based on operational needs).
