Duties
- Assist with food preparation, serving meals, and ensuring proper presentation according to dietary guidelines.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, cleaning, and sanitation of kitchen equipment and dining areas.
- Support the dietary department by following specific dietary requirements for residents or patients, including special diets and nutritional needs.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while practicing safe lifting and manual handling techniques.
- Provide friendly, attentive customer service to residents, patients, staff, and visitors during meal service.
- Help with inventory management by receiving food deliveries, storing supplies properly, and maintaining accurate records of food handling.
- Follow workplace safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with JCAHO standards for healthcare facilities.
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in food production, meal preparation, and food service environments.
- Knowledge of nutrition principles, dietary requirements for geriatric or healthcare populations, and food safety practices.
- Experience operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, dishwashers, or other culinary tools.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with working with geriatric patients or individuals requiring special diets is advantageous.
- Certification in CPR and knowledge of safe lifting practices are a plus to ensure safety for yourself and others.

Pay: $17.50 - $18.00 per hour
