Who We Are
HoneyDew Improvements is a design-build residential remodeling company based in Glendale, WI, built on a simple belief: homeowners deserve a contractor who treats their home like their own. We specialize in high-quality kitchen, bathroom, basement, and whole-home renovations — projects that range from $30,000 to well over $200,000 — and we take pride in delivering craftsmanship, clear communication, and a process clients actually enjoy.
We’re a growing company at an exciting inflection point. Our owners are stepping back from day-to-day field operations to focus on sales, business development, and growth — and we’re building the team infrastructure to match our ambitions. That’s where you come in.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Project Manager who can own the full lifecycle of residential remodeling projects— from preconstruction handoff through final punch list — and do it with professionalism, precision, and genuine pride in the finished product. This is not a clipboard-and-checklist role. You’ll be a key leader in our operation, the person our trades, clients, and team members count on to keep things moving and problems from compounding.
If you’re someone who thrives on ownership, sees around corners, and gets real satisfaction from a project finishing on time, on budget, and with a client who can’t stop talking about how smooth the process was — we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Manage a portfolio of concurrent residential design-build remodeling projects from preconstruction handoff through final completion, typically ranging from $30,000 to $200,000+.
- Coordinate project startup activities including permits, approvals, documentation, and readiness for production.
- Build and maintain project schedules, adjusting proactively as field conditions or project needs change.
- Coordinate internal team members, subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and deliveries to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Serve as a professional point of contact for clients during active projects, providing updates, addressing concerns, and maintaining confidence in the process.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to verify quality, monitor progress, identify issues early, and ensure work aligns with plans and company standards.
- Lead internal project handoff from sales and preconstruction into active production.
- Work closely with designers and architects to ensure plans, selections, and construction intent are fully understood before execution.
- Track job progress, change orders, scope adjustments, and project documentation with accuracy and consistency.
- Complete project takeoffs and support accurate material planning in collaboration with ownership.
- Anticipate and resolve scheduling conflicts, trade coordination challenges, and field issues before they create delays or client dissatisfaction.
- Support project closeout, punch list completion, and final turnover.
- Help build, document, and enforce SOPs and best practices inside our project management systems.
- Maintain organized records and ensure team communication is clear, current, and reliable.
What You Bring
- Proven experience managing residential remodeling or design-build construction projects, ideally including projects in the $50,000–$200,000+ range.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects without losing control of details, deadlines, or communication.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing, and remodeling workflow.
- Experience coordinating with designers, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and permit offices.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to hold teams accountable while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills — you run the schedule, not the other way around.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with both clients and trades.
- Confident reading plans, scopes of work, specifications, and selection documents.
- Familiarity with local building codes and the permitting and inspection process.
- Comfortable using project management software; experience with JobTread and/or BuilderTrend is a plus.
- High attention to detail and consistent follow-through — you finish what you start.
- Professionalism, maturity, and a genuine sense of ownership.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work in a hybrid role that includes both office and jobsite responsibilities.
Bonus Points If You Have…
- Experience preparing estimates or takeoffs for residential remodeling projects — not required, but genuinely valued.
- Spanish language skills (preferred — helpful for trade partner communication).
- Background working inside a small or growing GC operation where you’ve helped build systems, not just follow them.
