Make a significant impact by supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a resource room setting. This contract position involves working onsite with up to 22 students ranging across multiple grade levels over the full academic year. Your work will be instrumental in providing targeted instruction and differentiated support aligned with individualized education program (IEP) goals. As part of a collaborative school community, your expertise will contribute to students’ academic, social, and behavioral development.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license required
- Experience supporting students with emotional and behavioral disorders
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with general education staff, related service providers, and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver special education instruction tailored to diverse student needs within a resource classroom model
- Implement and monitor IEP goals, ensuring compliance and meaningful progress for each student
- Work closely with classroom teachers and support staff to coordinate instructional plans and transition strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, intervention strategies, and communication with families
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide insight into student strengths, needs, and recommended supports
- Create structured, engaging, and supportive classroom environments that encourage growth and resilience
