Position Description:
Title: Direct Support Professional
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Reports to: Home Manager/Program Specialist
In this position, you will get to:
· Help people reach their goals as they learn new skills
· Get out into the community-going shopping, to restaurants, parks, sporting events, libraries, concerts, and other community activities
·Celebrate accomplishments -being there for milestones, big and small, and helping someone recognize their own progress
· Plan fun activities -Doing crafts, music, cooking, movies, and More
·Trying new experiences -Introducing people to activities, places, hobbies, and opportunities they may not have experienced before
Help them maintain and promote a safe and clean environment
. Make someone's day better -the most rewarding part is simply providing companionship, encouragement, and a positive presence
. Help provide compassionate, individualized support with personal hygiene, meals, and feeding assistance as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in the field of DD field is preferred but not required.
- Capacity to build and maintain positive relationships with consumers, guardians, staff and other team members.
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner with both internal and external team members to positively represent BLESS, LLC.
- Reliability, 18 years or older
- Valid Driver’s License & Proof of Auto Insurance.
- Prefer working every other weekend.
- Pass a drug test
