Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for members of the Division of Developmental Disabilities while ensuring their safety and well-being. This role involves working closely with members in their homes and in the community
Duties
- Support individuals with daily living needs such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication.
- Encourage community engagement by accompanying individuals to activities, appointments, and social outings.
- Promote independence by teaching new skills and celebrating achievements.
- Keep accurate records of daily progress and activities.
- Create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
- Collaborate with families, supervisors, and team members to provide the best care possible.
Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Dependability, strong communication, and teamwork skills.
- Must be 18+ years old (21+ with valid AZ driver’s license for driving roles).
- Ability to pass a background check, fingerprint clearance, and required trainings.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
