Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, a non-profit, public interest law firm, is seeking a full-time Guardianship Advocate. The Advocate will work directly with the Guardianship Attorneys and their clients who are seniors and individuals with disabilities under guardianship and will report directly to the Guardianship Lead Advocate. The Guardianship Advocate interacts regularly with the clients in group homes, schools, medical facilities, hospitals, adult day care facilities, job sites, and personal homes. During these meetings, the Advocate will discuss housing conditions, safety issues, and physical and medical issues with the clients and housing staff, medical staff, caregivers, family members, and others involved in the clients’ care.
The candidate must be highly organized and must be able to work independently as well as with a team. The candidate must also excel at time management. The candidate must have excellent communication and writing skills and expertise with Word, Excel, and Outlook. As this position requires extensive daily travel, the candidate must have a valid driver’s license and a clear background and driving history. Bilingual with English/Spanish preferred, but not required.

Starting salary range is $41,000.00 to $52,000.00 depending on experience with annual increases available. Our excellent benefits effective on date of hire include 100% employer paid health insurance for an employee, spouse/legal domestic partner, and dependents up to 26 years old, a generous paid time off policy and flex work options after training is complete. A 403b match dollar for dollar up to 5% of an employee’s salary after 12 months of employment and 12 weeks paid parental leave after one year of employment.
