American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Acute Dialysis - Nights position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 1 year of recent dialysis experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Night shift position: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Dialysis unit operates across two campuses: the Regional campus (Mon–Sat, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM with Sunday and after-hours call) and the Northport campus (Mon/Wed/Fri with call on Tue/Thu/Sat/Sun and after hours)

Regional campus features 8 dialysis bays; Northport campus has 4 dialysis bays; both support bedside and peritoneal dialysis

Patient ratios: 1:2 (RN:patient) or 1:3 (RN + CCHT:patient)

Equipment: Fresenius machines (primary) and Gambro (as needed); facility will provide training for those unfamiliar with either

EMR: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)

Every other weekend required

Holiday coverage required

Floating to other units and hospitals required

Active AL state or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted

No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed

BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross)

Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 recent year in dialysis required

Professional nursing certification preferred

Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English

Active license, NURSYS verification, current driver's license, and 2 professional references from the past year required for consideration

RNs prepare and perform dialysis treatments on patients across both campuses

No pre-start HealthStream modules required; competency-based modules will be completed during virtual orientation
