Salary Range: $63.752 - Commensurate (dependent on experience, education, and qualifications)

The Field Distribution Specialist II performs detailed field assessments, develops electric distribution layouts in accordance with company standards, creates detailed construction packages, and collaborates with internal teams and field crews to clarify design intent and resolve technical issues within a non-manufacturing electric utilities services company. With 3+ years of experience, this role monitors project progress, updates schedules, and demonstrates advanced organizational and communication skills in support of complex design work.

Monitors project progress by updating schedules, validating documentation, and preparing standard reports for internal review, ensuring alignment with company and DOT guidelines.
Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in both field data collection and design documentation, ensuring all measurements, site conditions, and technical records are complete, precise, and compliant.
Performs detailed field assessments and gathers critical data for territory work, new line extensions, and re-insulation projects, ensuring precision and alignment with engineering specifications.
Develops and drafts electric distribution layouts in accordance with company standards, engineering specifications, and applicable safety regulations, delivering accurate and compliant designs.
Creates detailed construction packages incorporating precise drawings, material specifications, and supporting documentation to facilitate efficient project execution and adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines.
Provides support in developing individual pole replacement designs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with engineering standards under the guidance of senior team members.
Collaborates with internal teams and field crews to clarify design intent, resolve minor construction issues, and support permit submissions, ensuring alignment with project requirements and timelines.
Assists senior designers and engineers on reconductor and tie-line projects, gaining exposure to complex design practices and contributing to accurate documentation and workflow efficiency.
Demonstrates proficiency in design and drafting software, GIS, and related tools to create, interpret, and update technical drawings and spatial data for project planning and implementation.
Demonstrates advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam for documentation, communication, and reporting.
Strictly follows safety policies and ensures all designs comply with NESC standards, Rural Utilities Service (RUS) guidelines (where applicable), and relevant regulatory requirements.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, precision, and continuous improvement by adhering to established standards and proactively identifying opportunities for enhancement.
Demonstrates a collaborative approach supported by strong communication and problem-solving skills, fostering teamwork and effective resolution of technical challenges.

Experience: Minimum 3+ years of electric distribution design or related utility experience
Skills: Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and design/drafting software. Experience with Futura staking software preferred.
Education:· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, drafting/design, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience accepted.
