We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychotherapist to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide evidence-based psychotherapy services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing clinical documentation standards and ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, art therapy.
- Deliver individual, group, family, and crisis intervention sessions to support clients with diverse needs, including co-occurring disorders, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, grief, addiction issues, and gender-related counseling.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines while documenting patient care and progress in medical documentation systems.
- Provide telehealth therapy sessions utilizing telehealth experience platforms to expand access to mental health services.
- Engage in case management activities such as patient care coordination, research participation, data collection for clinical research projects, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic support tailored to each client’s unique circumstances, including working within inpatient or outpatient settings or special education environments.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management skills and behavior management strategies to ensure client safety and well-being.
Skills
- Extensive experience in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling.
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing to foster client engagement and facilitate change.
- Strong background in child & family counseling, pediatrics, geriatrics, working with individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and gender issues counseling.
- Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnostic evaluation and medical record keeping.
- Experience with crisis intervention strategies, crisis management protocols, social work practices, case management skills, and working with individuals with co-occurring disorders.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote patient care delivery; experience in inpatient or outpatient clinical settings is preferred.
- Ability to adhere to clinical documentation standards while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
- Strong communication skills for conducting intake assessments and delivering patient-centered care aligned with evidence-based practices in behavioral health.
Requirements
- Active New Jersey license as an LCSW.
- Minimum 2 years of psychotherapy or clinical counseling experience preferred.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
