Wellspring Family & Community Institute is seeking a dependable, professional, and compassionate Volunteer Counseling & Mental Health Office Receptionist/Clerk to provide front-desk, clerical, and administrative support within our counseling and behavioral health environment.
Overview
This volunteer role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, has strong organizational and communication skills, and would like to contribute their experience and time to an organization serving individuals and families in the community. The volunteer will serve as one of the first points of contact for clients, visitors, staff, and community partners and will help ensure that daily office operations run smoothly and professionally.
Duties
- Greet clients, visitors, staff, and community partners in a courteous and welcoming manner.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls and respond to general inquiries.
- Assist with scheduling, confirming, rescheduling, and updating client appointments.
- Support client check-in and check-out procedures.
- Provide intake packets, consent forms, and other required documents to clients.
- Assist with general administrative duties, including data entry, filing, scanning, copying, document preparation, and maintaining organized records.
- Assist with monitoring and routing telephone messages, correspondence, and other office communications.
- Provide administrative support to counselors, clinical staff, and program personnel.
- Assist with organizing materials for counseling programs, meetings, community outreach, and other agency activities.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Protect the privacy and confidentiality of client and organizational information and follow HIPAA and agency confidentiality requirements.
- Perform additional clerical and administrative duties as needed to support daily office operations.
Experience
Qualifications
We welcome individuals with administrative, clerical, customer service, healthcare, social service, education, nonprofit, or related professional experience. Previous behavioral health experience is helpful but not required.

This is a internship/volunteer position however a STIPEND will be provided.
Training and guidance will be provided for organization-specific procedures and responsibilities.
Pay: From $8.00 per hour
