We are seeking a skilled Programmer to join our team. As a Programmer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software programs that meet the needs of our organization. An employee in this classification may perform any of the following duties. However, these examples do not include all the specific tasks which an employee in this classification may be expected to perform.
Work Location: Sherwood
Day Shift: 6am-2:30pm Monday-Friday
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing Blueprints & CAD Models: Analyzing engineering drawings to determine tolerances, material types, and overall design intent.
- Tooling Selection: Deciding which drill bits, end mills, or inserts to use based on the material such as mild steel or aluminum.
- Generating Toolpaths: Using software (such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, or GibbsCAM) to calculate the precise pathways the cutting tool will take to remove material safely and efficiently.
- Simulation & Verification: Running software simulations to verify the program works correctly and to ensure there are no collisions between the tool, part, and machine.
- Post-Processing: Translating the visual toolpath within the software into machine-readable code (G-code or M-code).
- Collaboration: Working with machinists and setup personnel to test the programs on the floor, troubleshoot issues, and optimize production times.
Secondary Functions:
- Performs some CAD operations in conjunction with CAM programming.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and at least 2 years of experience with MasterCam and 2+ years of related machine experience, or any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job. Prefer some previous experience with CAD.
- Ability to read blueprints, underand machine codes and errors, and
- Knowledge of principles, practices and methodologies as related to CAM Programming, CAD, and machining.
- Knowledge of and ability to effectively use Windows, Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate effectively. and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
