Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Hybrid Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our dynamic dental team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to both clinical and administrative functions within a busy dental practice. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, manage appointment scheduling, and handle patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently using patient management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Assist dentists during clinical procedures, including chairside support for general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to infection prevention management protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms with appropriate dental instruments and sterilize equipment following dental sterilization procedures.
- Manage medical records accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging as needed to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and the use of dental equipment or appliances.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies, including dental instruments, X-ray materials, and 3D scanner components, ensuring proper storage and sterilization.
- Support infection control standards by following healthcare infection prevention protocols diligently across all clinical activities.
- Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, billing, and record management.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across various specialties including endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry.
- Experience with dental x-ray techniques, medical imaging technology, and 3D scanners used in advanced diagnostics.
- Strong understanding of infection prevention management and aseptic technique within a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication skills tailored for patient care environments; ability to explain procedures clearly and compassionately.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining high standards of clinical confidentiality.
- Familiarity with dental equipment operation, sterilization procedures, and dental instrument processing protocols.
- Knowledge of healthcare infection control practices aligned with HIPAA compliance standards.
- Competence in managing administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, billing inquiries, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

Experience:
- Dental assisting: 1 year (Required)
