2x Clinical faculty – Fridays – 6:30 am – 3:30 pm
1x SIM Instructor – Fridays 9 am – 3 pm
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced MSN or BSN Clinical Instructor for a 12-week contract (temp-to-perm) opportunity within an accredited nursing program in Port St. Lucie, FL. This role is responsible for providing high-quality clinical instruction and supervision to nursing students while supporting program outcomes, academic rigor, and safe clinical practice.
This position is ideal for a Master’s-prepared RN who is passionate about teaching, mentoring students, and contributing to program development and continuous improvement, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent faculty role.
Key ResponsibilitiesProfessional Practice & Faculty Role
- Provide clinical instruction to nursing students in approved healthcare settings
- Teach to established clinical objectives aligned with program and course outcomes
- Demonstrate professional, student-centered behavior and serve as a role model
- Collaborate effectively with course faculty, clinical coordinators, and the Dean of Nursing
- Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and program evaluation activities
Clinical Instruction & Facilitation of Learning
- Design and supervise clinical learning experiences to meet course objectives
- Ensure students practice safely and competently in clinical settings
- Lead pre- and post-clinical conferences
- Integrate real-world nursing practice and evidence-based principles into clinical teaching
- Orient students to clinical sites, expectations, and unit workflows
Evaluation & Student Support
- Evaluate student performance using approved clinical evaluation tools
- Provide timely, constructive feedback and support student remediation plans as needed
- Maintain accurate attendance, evaluations, and clinical documentation
- Communicate student progress and concerns to course faculty and nursing leadership
Faculty Development
- Participate in professional development activities and continuing education
- Maintain clinical and educational competence in assigned teaching areas
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or (BSN) required
- Active, unencumbered RN license (Florida or multistate privilege)
- Minimum 2 years of RN clinical experience; Med-Surg experience preferred
- Previous teaching or clinical instructor experience preferred
- Strong clinical expertise and ability to supervise students in clinical environments
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Additional Requirements
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to meet clinical site requirements (background check, drug screen, immunizations)
- Basic computer proficiency (email, documentation systems, learning platforms)
