Position Summary
This position supports Detention Deputies during the inmate booking and release process. Duties include direct contact with inmates, maintaining and updating inmate records, and performing various jail-related clerical tasks. The position also requires operating the jail’s control systems, including doors, gates, video surveillance, and intercom systems, requiring strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Compensation & Benefits
Starting Pay: $22.96 per hour DOE (includes $0.50 shift differential)
Retirement: Public Employees Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI)
Pension plan with 5-year vesting
11.96% employer contribution
Lifetime payout upon retirement

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must:
Possess a high school diploma or GED
Have at least six (6) months of work experience
Possess or be able to obtain NCIC (National Crime Information Center) certification within six (6) months of hire
Be able to carry and use pepper spray
