POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for providing direct supervision and care for a group of children through a caring, positive, authoritative relationship. Makes children feel welcome and comfortable. Assists in the planning and implementing of scheduled period(s) of activities, which are developmentally appropriate and ensures the safety and wellbeing of the children as well as providing a model of quality.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Prepares and Implements a program of activities and lesson plans in accordance with agency curriculum for a group of children.
- Establishes and maintains control and safety of an assigned group of children.

Serves as an effective role model for the children by assisting children in a way that develops the child’s role and initiative and Interacts in ways that help them learn.

Maintains a positive and professional attitude with parents, children and staff at all times. Participates in parent contact and communication as assigned. Communicates the child’s progress with parents in a positive and supportive manner.
SCREENING QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma plus 6 ECE credits recognized by the PCLB with 1 year teaching experience in an agency serving children. Must be at least 21 years of age.
