Position Summary
The Houseman is a full-time, hands-on support position responsible for helping maintain the appearance, cleanliness, functionality, and overall readiness of The Club at Holliday Farms. This position supports operations throughout the property through cleaning projects, exterior upkeep, light maintenance, furniture movement, seasonal setup and teardown, and event setup and teardown.
The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, proactive, and comfortable performing a variety of physical tasks. This is a great position for someone who enjoys staying active, working on different projects each day, and taking pride in maintaining a high-quality environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Clubhouse & Property Upkeep
- Assist with large-scale and deep-cleaning projects throughout the Clubhouse and Club property.
- Pressure wash patios, walkways, entrances, outdoor furniture, and other areas.
- Use leaf blowers to maintain entrances, patios, sidewalks, terraces, and outdoor spaces.
- Assist with exterior cleanup including leaves, debris, trash, and general property presentation.
- Clean windows, walls, floors, furniture, storage areas, and other spaces as assigned.
- Maintain clean and organized back-of-house, storage, and service areas.
- Assist Housekeeping with larger cleaning projects when additional support is needed.
- Regularly identify areas throughout the property that need cleaning or additional attention.
Furniture & Seasonal Setup
- Move, arrange, and relocate furniture throughout the Clubhouse and property.
- Move tables, chairs, outdoor furniture, décor, equipment, and other Club assets.
- Set up and break down outdoor furniture and amenities at the beginning and end of each season.
- Assist with seasonal transitions for patios, pool areas, outdoor dining spaces, and other Club amenities.
- Assist with the setup and removal of holiday and seasonal decorations.
- Prepare Club spaces for seasonal openings and closings.
- Clean, organize, store, and protect seasonal furniture, decorations, and equipment.
- Maintain organized furniture, equipment, and seasonal storage areas.
Light Maintenance & Special Projects
- Complete basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs throughout the Club.
- Replace light bulbs and assist with simple fixture and hardware repairs.
- Assemble furniture, shelving, equipment, and other Club items.
- Hang signage, artwork, décor, and other materials.
- Assist with preventative maintenance and property improvement projects.
- Maintain and properly store tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Identify maintenance or safety concerns and communicate them to management.
- Assist with larger Facilities projects as directed.
Event Setup & Teardown
- Assist with setup and teardown for weddings, banquets, member events, meetings, and other Club functions.
- Move and arrange tables, chairs, event furniture, staging, and equipment.
- Assist with room flips and transitions between events.
- Set up event décor, signage, and other materials as directed.
- Work with the Food & Beverage and Events teams to ensure spaces are completely prepared prior to member and guest arrival.
- Break down events efficiently and return furniture, equipment, and supplies to their proper locations.
- Ensure event and storage spaces remain clean, organized, and safe.
General Club Support
- Respond to operational needs and special projects throughout the property.
- Assist other Club departments when additional support is needed.
- Help receive, move, organize, and store deliveries and supplies.
- Safely operate pressure washers, leaf blowers, carts, basic hand tools, and other Club equipment.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while working in member and guest areas.
- Take initiative in identifying cleaning, maintenance, organization, and setup needs.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by Club leadership.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, housekeeping, landscaping, event setup, hospitality, or another hands-on position is preferred but not required.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Dependable and punctual with the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable performing physical work and operating basic tools and equipment.
- Ability to prioritize projects and adjust to changing operational needs.
- Willingness to assist multiple departments and take on a variety of responsibilities.
- Professional attitude when working around members, guests, and coworkers.
- Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including some early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to regularly bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, climb, and carry equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds independently and assist with heavier items as part of a team.
- Ability to frequently move tables, chairs, furniture, décor, equipment, and supplies.
- Ability to safely operate pressure washers, leaf blowers, carts, basic hand tools, and related equipment.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
