Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Scraper Operator to join our team located in Cheyenne, WY. This role is responsible for operating heavy scraper equipment to move, spread, and grade earth materials efficiently and safely on construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Cut, load, haul, and spread fill material according to project specifications.

Interpret and follow information provided by grade stakes, plans, and instructions.

Perform daily inspections of scraper equipment and report mechanical issues.

Conduct basic maintenance and keep equipment clean, fueled, and lubricated.

Work closely with foremen, surveyors, and other equipment operators to ensure grade accuracy.

Follow all safety policies, procedures, and jobsite requirements.

Perform other tasks as needed to support project operations.
Required Qualifications:

Minimum 2–5 years of experience operating scraper equipment on construction or earthwork projects.

Ability to read grade stakes and understand basic grading plans.

Valid driver’s license required.

Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

Strong understanding of cut/fill operations and earthmoving practices.

Mechanical awareness to identify equipment performance issues.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication skills and ability to take direction.

Tools & Technology:

Motorized scrapers and supporting earthmoving equipment.

Site plans, grade stakes, and hand signals/radios for communication.
Work Environment:

Active construction and earthwork sites.

Exposure to heavy machinery, dust, noise, uneven terrain, and all weather conditions.

Strict adherence to PPE and safety standards required.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment.

Frequent climbing in and out of equipment.

Ability to bend, twist, grip controls, and maintain hand-eye-foot coordination.

Ability to work long shifts, including overtime and weekends as needed.
