Join a busy outpatient healthcare team where you’ll play an important role in creating a positive patient experience from check-in through scheduling and insurance coordination. We are seeking an experienced, dependable Medical Front Desk / Patient Services Representative who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with patients, insurance information, and electronic medical records.
Medical Front Desk Responsibilities
- Greet patients professionally and provide a welcoming front-desk experience
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Explain insurance benefits, copays, balances, and patient financial responsibilities
- Answer patient and staff questions related to insurance coverage and benefits
- Confirm patients have required insurance referrals or authorizations before treatment
- Track and enter insurance referrals into patient charts
- Collect copays, outstanding balances, and applicable patient fees
- Review patient accounts as needed and accurately document payments
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions
- Schedule, confirm, cancel, and reschedule appointments
- Accurately relay patient messages to therapists and other clinical staff
- Identify patient no-shows and contact patients to reschedule appointments
- Monitor and return messages from the general voicemail box
- Scan and upload incoming patient forms, correspondence, and documents into the electronic medical record
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked front desk and waiting area
- Serve as a liaison between patients, insurance companies, therapists, and office staff
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and educational meetings as required
- Perform additional administrative and patient service duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous medical office experience or experience working with an EMR system is required
- Experience with insurance verification, referrals, authorizations, or patient benefits strongly preferred
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Professional and courteous communication with patients and coworkers
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Dependable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, electronic medical records, internet-based systems, and general office software
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least one year of related medical office, healthcare, patient services, or administrative experience preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered

- Monday through Friday
- 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- No weekend schedule
